SAN Fernando, Cebu mayoralty candidate Ruben Feliciano admitted that the person who was arrested by anti-cybercrime authorities was his supporter.

Shielbert Michael Alerta Encabo who uses aliases Shielbert Alerta Encabo, Micmic Encabo, Mikay Alerta Encabo and Rachel Pollo was arrested by the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office 7 for the crime of cyber libel on Tuesday, March 19.

Encabo is also facing another warrant of arrest after he was identified as the person who posted a “kill list” of political allies of San Fernando Mayor Lakambini Reluya on Facebook.

Feliciano, who will face Reluya in the upcoming May 2019 midterm elections, told reporters at the sidelines of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago political rally in Mandaue City on Thursday, he knows Encabo and he is his supporter.

“Politika na, pamolitika na kay political season karon. Tanan supporter nako, even Reluya is my supporter.. of course kaila nako, kay modagan gud ko’g mayor. Syempre kaila ko sa tanan, tanan sa San Fernando kaila nako,” Feliciano said.

(That is politicking because it’s election season now. Everyone is my supporter, even Reluya. Of course, I know him (Encabo) because I am running for mayor. I know everyone and everyone knows me in San Fernando.)

Reluya named Feliciano as the person behind the ambush against her that led to the death of her husband, a close-in staff and a security aide on Jan. 22, 2019.

His name was also linked to the Facebook post containing the “kill list.”

But Feliciano has denied the accusations.

“I strongly deny any involvement in the so-called kill list insinuated by my political rivals, more so on any hand in the ambush of Nonoy Reluya and two other people,” Feliciano earlier said.

Feliciano said all these accusations were “propaganda,” which would not stop his political bid and service to the people of San Fernando.

“(That’s) Propaganda against me that would (not) destroy me. Malign me (but) that will never work because my only intention, which I fully trust, is truth and God,” Feliciano said. (FMD, KAL, VLA)
