THE family of Ramil Miralles is asking for prayers from friends and relatives for the fast recovery of the veteran Cagayan de Oro basketball player.

Miralles, 47, an employee of Ford Motor Company apparently collapsed while about to play a game on Wednesday night, March 20, in a neighborhood basketball court somewhere in Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

“Please pray for our cousin Limar Aranas Miralles currently in the Intensive Care Unit at CUMC since yesterday. Please, we need your prayers for fast his fast recovery,” posted Can Meralles on his Facebook account.

According to the family members, Miralles’ comatose condition was attributed by attending physician to “low potassium” and “low calcium” in his body system.

“Kalooy sa Ginoo walay ugat nga naputol sa iyang ulo (Thank God not vein was cut), okay ra sab iyang heart (his heart is also alright). Low potassium and low calcium lang gyod daw ingon sa doctor (the doctor said),” his cousin Cancan said.

Cancan said Ramil had responded to the doctor’s wakeup call the following night by opening his eyes before going back into deep slumber.

“Gikinahanglan gyod namo inyong mga pag-ampo kay anaa pa gyod siya sa critical nga kahimtang (We asks for your prayers for he is still in a critical condition). His immediate family also needs financial help or whatsoever,” he further said.

Miralles is also a member of the Green Cagayan de Oro Eagles Club. He has a budding son, currently a member of Corpus Christi elementary varsity team.

“Nagsabot-sabot na kami sa mga opisyales sa Green Cagyan de Oro Eagles kabahin kon unsa man among matabang kang Ramil ug sa iyang pamilya (We already talked with the officials of the Green Cagayan de Oro Eagles on what we can give Ramil and his family,” said club president Ulyssis Romulo.
