It's grey team against red team in the opener for the 39-below and grey team versus red team in the 40-up level.
On Saturday, March 16, reigning champion team black of Weng Mercado won a thrilling bout with team orange of Dandan Guevara, 69-66.
Team Buting also survived an equally-exciting duel in the 39-below category.
It was a close fight right from the opening salvo with team orange even taking the upper hand with Balong Mabalot and Bong Mercado leading the charge but team black retaliated with much vigor in the final half behind the concerted efforts of Janjan Arcaya, Weng Marc, Michael Pamisa and Andit Sacabin to escape with a 3-point victory.
“Medyo individual ra kaayo ang dula sa final half. Sipyat pud ang mga perimeter sa among rock-n-roll center (Vulture Balabat) bawi lang mi sunod,” said Bong Marc, who runs team orange’s backcourt play in the company of Kapitan Abapo and Stev Panaz.
