MIDAGHAN ang nagpakita og interest nga motabang sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 7 sa paglimpyo sa 10 ka mga priority nga sapa sa rehiyon diin sa uwahing natala sa ahensiya niabot na kini sa 94 ka mga public ug private partners.
Samtang atol sa gihimo nga pagpanglimpyo niining mga sapa niadtong Marso 22, niabot sa kapin 23,000 ka kilos ang nakolekta nga basura sa volunteers.
Niabot na sa 94 ka public ug private partners sa Central Visayas ang mipirma sa memorandum of agreement (MOA) ug memorandum of partnership (MOP) diin katambayayong kini sa DENR 7 sa rehabilitasyon sa maong mga sapa, matod na usab ni DENR 7 Regional Director Gilbert Gonzales.
Sigun pa ni Gonzales nga ang maong MOA/MOP lakip kini sa ilang Rivers for Life Program diin tumong niini nga aduna’y aksyon nga himuon ang hingtungdan isip partner sa nagkadaiyang sektor aron pagpanglimpyo sa sapa.
Sa 94 ka mga partners, adunay 83 niini gikan sa pribado nga sector o kadtong duol o kilid sa sapa ingon man lokal nga kagamhanan ug national government agencies.
“We recognize the support that we are now getting from our partners, especially the support coming from the local government units and private establishments, for their commitment to help us address the huge volume of silt, wastes and other debris that have affected our river systems in the region,” matod ni Gonzales.
Ubos sa MOA motabang ang partners niini sa pagpalambo sa sapa, lakip na ang information ug education campaigns, community mobilization activities, trainings sa concerned stakeholders ug regular clean-up activities.
Atol sa ikaduhang hugna sa pagpanglimpyo sa sapa nga gihimo niadtong Marso 22, niabot sa 1,439 ka sako ang nagamit sa 23,057 ka kilos nga basura nga nakolekta gikan sa Bulacao River, Luyang River ug Butuanon River sa Sugbo; Manaba River, Abatan River ug Inabanga River sa Bohol; Banica River, Sicopong River ug Panam-angan River sa Negros Oriental ug Señora River sa Siquijor.
Niadto usab Marso 23, gilusad usab sa Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer sa Argao nga si Aniceto Aquino inubanan sa Cebu City Government ang Bulacao River Park Development sa Brgy. Inayawan, Cebu City pinaagi sa pagbutang sa mga ecobricks isip agianan pathways ug pagpananom kilid sa sapa.
“With the strong support of our partners and the communities ensuring that these rivers are properly rehabilitated and would remain clean, we can pass on to the next generation, a much healthier and safer water resources,” matod ni Gonzales.
