BAGOSPHERE, an award-winning job training provider, is pleased to announce BagoSphere Scholarship Program, a new call center training scholarship opportunity in Iloilo City beginning April 1.

The scholarship will fully subsidize tuition fees of 300 Ilonggos who are accepted to BagoSphere’s Customer Service and Communication (CSC) Training Program, a one-month course that prepares its students for a career in the call center industry.

While the call center industry is expected to continue growing and innovating, aspiring call center agents need to develop a certain set of skills that will allow them to remain competitive in finding employment and performing well at work.

Since January 2013, BagoSphere has helped over 2,000 graduates in the Philippines through its training programs. Ninety percent of its graduates have been hired within 90 days of graduation.

BagoSphere designs a curriculum that equips students with socio-emotional and job-essential skills that are relevant in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry. It collaborates with its BPO employer partners such as Transcom, Teleperformance and Panasiatic to understand the industry’s unique needs.

BagoSphere scholars will receive access to an online learning system, call simulations, mock interviews and placement simulations.

Additionally, they will learn life skills such as financial literacy and stress management, which can guide them in their career paths and life decisions.

The BagoSphere Scholarship Program is one of BagoSphere’s projects funded by Rising Tide Foundation, an international grant-making program that supports cancer research, libertarian, social and education programs.

Rising Tide Foundation receives applications from highly qualified and dedicated institutions from around the world. Applicants are vigorously assessed by their staff and the chair of the Social & Education Funding Program for overall fit with their funding guidelines.

“We are thankful that Rising Tide is making CSC free for Ilonggos. We first piloted our training program in Bago City, which has been refined over the years leading to a more human-centered type of development -- a model that has been tried and tested since 2011. Aside from seeing our

graduates succeed in job applications, we also see them grow happy and confident,” said BagoSphere’s CEO and co-founder Zhihan Lee, a Singaporean social entrepreneur who has been based in the Philippines since 2011.

Enrollment for the first CSC class on April 1 is already opened.

BagoSphere will award 25 scholarships per month in April and May, and 50 scholarships per month from June to December.

BagoSphere’s scholarships for CSC will be awarded based on an assessment test and an interview that applicants have to take during the application process. The program requires applicants to be 18 years of age or older, and at least an ALS graduate, senior high graduate or high school graduate (following the old curriculum).

The deadline to apply for a BagoSphere Scholarship for the April class is March 29, 2019.
