788 promoted cops take oath

A TOTAL of 788 newly-promoted police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs) of Davao City Police Office (DCPO) took their oath during the donning and pinning of ranks at DCPO parade grounds Monday, March 25.

DCPO Director Alexander Tagum, who led Monday’s activity, congratulated and thanked the personnel for their contribution in keeping the peace and order in the city.

“I can truly say that you all deserved to be promoted and with your sacrifices come also the sacrifices of all your loved ones who are here today to witness your donning as you receive this promotion and blessings,” Tagum said in his speech.

He recognized their efforts in making all the international, national and local events that were staged here successful with no major untoward incidents.

“This overwhelming number of promotees could be attributed to DCPO’s personnel outstanding performance based on the yearly periodic rating that largely contributed all administrative and operational accomplishments of the office,” he added.

Last year, DCPO bagged the National Award for Best City Police Office of the Year and Best City Mobile Force of the Year for its outstanding performance in maintaining the safety of the people as well as the city and enforcement of the laws, “that draws public attention leading to numerous distinct awards and recognition.”

“This is so because we have produced the best, tough, hardworking, disciplined and committed Davao’s finest worthy for a well-deserved promotion,” the city’s top police official said.

After the successful conduct of Alveo Ironman 70.3 triathlon competition that were participated by some 2,000 triathletes on Sunday, Tagum vowed to give recognition to all the personnel who took part in the security coverage.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support and cooperation. Because of your cooperation and sacrifices, we have accomplished our numerous missions in the past like the Ironman triathlon,” he said. (JCR)
