Local police said three fishermen found the blocks while fishing off Bagamanoc around 1 p.m. Monday, March 25.

The fishermen immediately turned the illegal contraband over to police.

The suspected cocaine has an estimated weight of 8.635 kilos.

The police then turned the blocks over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Since February, over 100 kilograms of cocaine have been recovered from the country's eastern seaboard, particularly in the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur in Luzon, as well as Dinagat Group of islands in Caraga, Davao Oriental, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao Del Sur in Mindanao.
