CAMP OLIVAS -- The Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon under the stint of Director Joel Napoleon Coronel formed an all-women battalion-strong police force to highlight the culmination of Women’s Month.

The battalion paraded during the flag raising ceremony at the PRO-Central Luzon parade grounds here in the City of San Fernando on March 25 where the guest of honor and speaker was Commission on Population and Development Central Luzon director Rosa Fortaleza.

Several awards and recognitions were given to deserving female PNP commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers and non-uniformed personnel.

Police Superintendent Alexie Desamito, chief of Talavera municipal police station, led the battalion formation.

“In honor of all the women in the police service, the command employs policewomen in the men-dominated realm like commanding a unit. This is to connect gender gaps and promote gender equality and women empowerment within the police organization,” Coronel said. (PR)
