Newly promoted police take oath

SOME 1,795 newly-promoted police personnel from the different provincial offices of the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO–Cor) and newly commissioned officers simultaneously took their oath at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet Tuesday, March 26.

Police Brigadier General R’win Pagkalinawan, deputy regional director for administration (DRDA), administered the mass oathtaking and donning of ranks of the 164 appointed commissioned officers.

Police Colonel Allen Rae Co, chief of the regional personnel and records management division (RPRMD), announced that of the 1,631 personnel promoted, seven were promoted to Police Lieutenant Colonel, three to Police Major, three to Police Captain and 24 to Police Lieutenant.

Ten were promoted to Police Executive Master Sergeant, 15 to Police Master Sergeant, 47 to Senior Master Sergeant, 83 to Police Master Sergeant, 492 to Police Staff Sergeant, and 947 to Police Corporal.

The donning and pinning of ranks was also done simultaneously in all other police provincial offices of Abra, Apayao, Ifugao, Mt. Province and Kalinga.

Pagkalinawan urged all the promoted police personnel to carry on the good fight they have started, aside from being a good example to their fellow officers, and to the people they serve.

Medals and certificates were awarded to the members of the promotion boards in recognition of the efforts in meticulously screening the promotable personnel and appointed personnel for the lateral entry, aside from a certificate of appreciation given to the National Police Commission.

The observance of mass promotion aims to give honor and recognition to newly-promoted PNP uniformed personnel as well as to uplift the morale of the police force.
