PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte's closest aide, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HnP) senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, on Tuesday, March 26, gave his commitment to the drivers and operators of the Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers and operators in Bacolod City, who recently held a caravan to support Go’s candidacy.

Go recently joined the other HnP senatorial candidates, led by regional chairperson Sara Duterte-Carpio, who staged a grand rally in Isabela and Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on March 25.

Go said: "Rest assured that if they need help, in so far as the legality, safety of their operation, or their franchise, I am more than willing to listen to them and I will help in fast-tracking the process. All I want here is that all processes that involve the government should be hastened. The reason why we have the Malasakit Center (health care service), is so that we can also fast-track the medical services—and not only to limit it to medical services but also other services in the government."

He added that the people are already fed up waiting in a long queue when they process their documents with the government.

"I am more than willing to help them. President Duterte still has three years in office and rest assured, in case I will be lucky enough to win in the election or otherwise, I am more than willing to help them. Serbisyo ang aking bisyo (service is my only vice)," he said.

TNVS drivers and operators, along with other sectors in business, transport and tourism, wrote President Duterte, through Go, stating that for years, the TNVS system has existed and Western Visayas is gaining strength as a business and tourist destination.

Those operating in the region should be allowed to add more accredited vehicles as the demand has increased.

The authority to add more franchise vehicles lies with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

"As we plead to ask for more, it said that the transport company depend only on the approval of LTFRB, where their request is pending for a time already," the group stated.
