Capitol grants P32.3-M to SPES beneficiaries

THE provincial government together with the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) in the City of San Fernando has released P32.3 million for the implementation of this year’s Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES).

San Fernando Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led the awarding of SPES salaries to some 3,399 students held on Monday, March 25 at the Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex.

The vice governor told the students how privileged they are to be part of the program amidst Dole’s strict budget allocation this 2019.

“You know, we are very fortunate that Dole has allowed us to get many beneficiaries this year. In the whole country, it is only Pampanga which has more than 10,000 SPES,” the vice governor said in the vernacular.

Pineda who is running for governor said that this was made possible because of the provincial government’s initiative of prioritizing sufficient funds to support and help the student’s needs.

SPES beneficiary Jacklyn Mallari, Bachelor of Science in Education student of the Don Honorio Ventura State University said the SPES program is a great help to her. (PR)
