ELEMENTARY chess skirmishes get underway today, March 30 at West City Central School in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
Events on tap are the Grade 1-2, Grade 3-4 and Grade 5-6 categories with P1,000, P700 and P500 cash prizes for the top 3 finishers in each level.
"More kiddies chess tournaments the better especially sa CdeO na daghan ang chess trainers unya daghan na sab mga bata nga nagka-interest nga mo-excel sa chess," said WCCS chess coach Randolph Christopher Dalauta.
Aspiring chess players from private schools are also expected to participate in the West City Central School chessfest. (LLS)
