Cool Down Routines

Cool Down Routines

ALONGSIDE our excitement for the release of the Game of Thrones’ final series on April 14, should be our interest for the tropics’ nearing summer season. So, as the GOT characters get ready for their “Invasion of the Dead,” it is just about right for us to prepare for how to survive the hot season—for us not to end up looking like swamp rats.

Five of our ‘Zup! Readers shared their cool down routines so as to enjoy the summertime as much as possible (they swear)!

“When I’m on vacation, my best routine to cool down during summer is being active outside. This means going out in the sun, having outdoor trips, or hitting the beach. Instead of being bored and bothered by the displeasing high temperature at home, I’d rather enjoy what this season offers and make the most out of it.”

Dianne Ticod, 20, AB Political Science student

“With the summer season getting hotter each year, going through it can be a pain, but having a good fix of iced coffee is a great way to take the heat down a notch. Experimenting with coffee and milk, and maybe chocolate mixes is my 10 out of 10 cool down routine every summer.”

Eiver Ky Villegas, 18, BA Journalism student

“One of the best things to do during the hot season is to go out and chill with friends. The mall is a good option, but we also have this favorite spot beside a certain beach. It’s always better to spend summer with good company under the sun!”

Teresa Angelie Iballa, 2nd year-Proper, Doctor of Optometry

“I’m not exaggerating when I say every summer is literally hell on Earth. Taking that into account, I take a lot of extra measures. First, a bottle of water is a must. Not only does it help me stay cool, but it also keeps me hydrated. Second, I always try to wear something summer-friendly. Lastly, I always see to it that I carry an umbrella with me at all times to keep me out of direct heat and sunlight.”

Ira Neil Delector, 19, BS in Information Technology student

“I reward myself by visiting a beach. Even though I am based in Cebu, I still choose to go back to my hometown. The sea breeze calms me and brings me inner peace.”

Raven Digal, 20, AB International Studies student
