THE cleansing of jail facilities of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Western Visayas is ongoing.
The joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas, PDEA Negros Occidental led by Intel Officer I Don Gomer Juico, and the Victorias City Jail BJMP conducted operation greyhound or a search and seizure operation in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
The region-wide cleansing of jail facilities has intensified with the BJMP, Philippine National Police and PDEA jointly conducting the search and seizure operations.
No illegal drugs were detected nor confiscated during the said greyhound.
Meanwhile, the joint elements of PDEA Negros Occidental Office led by Investigation Agent Sisa Cortez, together with the Cadiz PNP, conducted a buy-bust at around 4:20 p.m., March 28 in Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz, Negros Occidental, which resulted in the arrest of Gilbert Quiatchon, who was in the PNP provincial target list, and the confiscation of more or less five grams of suspected shabu.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being prepared for filing in court, PDEA-Western Visayas said. (TDE)
