Kekert: Mixed events

ALL Cuban style! Matching the sassy look in bold colors and floral prints, as sultry salsa music played at the beachfront of Kandaya Resort and Spa, this exquisite farewell-to-singlehood party took place the day before Justin Salimbangon and Bianca Lopez were set to tie the knot! Party and dance the night away a la Cubana! Congratulations, Justin and Bianca!

For a pop-up of Neil Felipp’s collection, this trunk show featured a display of his most recent and creative clutch bag designs. Each piece uniquely designed with a poetic description behind it, the collection featured “Suzy Wong,” “Medusa and Midas,” “Antoinette The Mad,” “Simian,” “Oceania,” “Heart of Atlantis,” “Siren,” “Persephone” and the “Sakura.” The Bamboo Room of the Oakridge Executive Club was where his stunning pieces were housed. Magwayen Pendants were also put on display; part of the proceeds from every purchase of the pendants will go to the Trinity Project, a foundation of the Hijo Resources Corp. According to folklore, Magwayen is a Visayan goddess of the sea and water created by Kanlaon to balance Kaptan, the Sky God. Congratulations, dear Neil, and more success to come your way!

Inspired by the ocean, sun and sky, a ready-to-wear resort-wear collection for women by LOTUS was recently launched at the second level of Rustan’s Department Store in Ayala Center Cebu. Designed by Pia Regala-Hebron, this new collection consists of a line specializing in hand-crafted stylish and contemporary chic coverups, beach kaftans, airy sarongs, carry-all beach bags and footwear perfect for the summer!
