In Davao City, there is one micro entrepreneur who does not only offer affordable ice candies, but a Pinoy favourite that is full of flavour and creaminess. Lamee Ann Ice Cream Candy is a must-taste ice cream served like ice candy. In short, it tastes like ice cream yet it is packed in ice candy wrapper and sold at a lot cheaper price compared to other cold products. The name is a stylized version of the local term “lamian,” which means delicious.
While some may think that the lowly ice candy is just frozen artificial juice, Lamee Ann is different.
Owners Sarita and Robin Uyamot shared that when they decided to start this business in 2016, they made sure that their product will stand out. True enough, their ice candy is unique. It is made of real fruits and milk, thus, the extra creamy taste.
Sarita pointed out that in business, it is important that the entrepreneur continues to innovate. It is only through it that the product maintains the loyalty of its customers. So, aside from the usual flavors of avocado and buko, Lamee Ann also offers durian, chocolate with cookies and cream, and mango float.
She further narrated that having the right attitude in business, which includes being innovative, makes a difference. She explained that this has kept her and her husband positive all these years. They have never stopped looking for ways on how to keep their current market and expand some more.
In addition, Robin noted that product development is an important component as well. He said they are glad that they now have a new logo, which has made their product more appealing to customers. Lamee Ann is a beneficiary of the Brand Equity Development program and Negosyo Center.
