Simon thanks fans for 8th All-Star stint

FORMER University of Mindanao (UM) standout Peter June Simon, who hails from Makilala, thanked his fans for his eighth PBA All-Star appearance.

On his Facebook post, the Magnolia Hotshot said, "Maraming salamat sa lahat PBA fans and Magnolia Hotshots sa pag suporta ninyo sakin. Naka walong appearance ako sa All-Star dahil sa inyo."

The 37-year-old Simon, who will soon wed Philippines' Miss Supranational Jehza Huelar, a Dabawenya, also clinched the best three-point shootout award after beating NorthPort's Robert Bolick and NLEX's Philip Paniamogan in the final round.

He later posted, "So surreal to actually win this award! I was already grateful for being chosen to compete in this category, and to win in it is just icing on the cake. Thank You, Lord, for the unexpected blessings you always give! It’s truly humbling. #AllGlorytoGod."

However, his 34 points and two rebounds were not enough as his South team bowed to North team, 170-185.
