Naguit wants implementation of Santo Tomas dev’t road map

SANTO Tomas vice mayoralty candidate Jhong Naguit said this municipality needs to implement its master plan and a solid development blueprint in its comprehensive land use plan (Clup) to realize its dream of becoming an investment destination for commercial and industrial businesses.

Naguit, who is seeking election as vice mayor, said a comprehensive master plan and development blueprint if implemented in the coming years will make the town an aggressive destination for investment as envisioned by local officials.

“The master plan and development blueprint covers investments, revenue generation, employment, education and land use. We need to implement the current plan in a way that fits current trends,” Naguit said.

He said a Clup properly identifies which zones are under commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential categories.

Naguit also noted of important practices that could be benchmarked in putting the master plan and blueprint in the drawing boards. The Clup of Sto. Tomas was passed through the efforts of councilors Fidel Calma and Jhong Naguit who are the chairman and vice chairman of the committee on environment, respectively, and approved by the Pampanga Provincial Board.

The vice mayoralty candidate added that areas for further development in the town should be identified for future development. He added that the municipal government must be ready to provide incentives to the private sector for businesses that would be established in the town.

Naguit is running with Gloria Ronquillo, who is seeking the mayoralty post, in the coming May polls.
