KAPAMPANGANS and music lovers of all ages were serenaded by this generation’s hottest male recording artists during the 6th year of Castaway Music Festival at SM City San Fernando Downtown.
A jampacked crowd at the mall’s 7th floor (roof deck) jammed with the latest singles and renditions of singer-songwriters TJ Monterde and Sam Concepcion under a bright and starry night.
Mall manager Lana Erroba said the music festival’s organizer maintained the same acoustic and “chillax” genre for SM City San Fernando Downtown to match with the open-space and dim-lighted set-up at the venue.
“It’s a very perfect Sunday night venue for music lovers and even for those who just wanted to chill and relax under the stars and be serenaded with the beautiful music of our featured artists for tonight, TJ Monterde and Sam Concepcion,” Erroba said.
Monterde, who was in this capital city for the first time, performed some of his most sought after original hits including “Ikaw at Ako,” “Dating Tayo” and “Tulad Mo.”
“It is always very exciting to perform for the Kapampangan crowd because everyone is very participative, very joyful and really loves love songs,” Monterde said.
Concepcion also fired up the crowd with his total performance on stage, singing and dancing to his greatest his “Dati” and “Mahal na Mahal”, and his rendition of Bruno Mars’ “24K.”
Monterde and Concepcion both expressed gratitude to SM City San Fernando Downtown for organizing such an event which promotes original Pinoy music and brings together Filipino music lovers.
