MEXICO town Mayor Teddy Tumang on Wednesday, April 3, said more health services are now in line for Mexico residents as the municipal government has increased the capacity of the Mexico Community Hospital and is speeding up the construction of a new diagnostic center.

Tumang, who is running for another term, told residents of Barangay San Vicente in Mexico town that they municipal government will soon open the second floor extension of the Mexico Community Hospital to accommodate more patients from this town and neighboring communities.

The community hospital serves patients not just from Mexico but also from as far as Arayat, San Fernando and San Luis.

“Mexico residents will always be given prompt attention as well as patients from other areas,” Tumang assured, adding that he has ordered the strengthening of the services of the dialysis center here to further improve services. Mexico boasts of the largest government-run dialysis center in Pampanga.

Established in June 2018, the newly-constructed P70-million hemodialysis center, which stands on a 2,000-square-meter-lot in Barangay San Carlos, was funded through the local government’s annual budget supported by advanced tax payments made by mall developer SM Prime Holdings Incorporated.

The facility has 24 fully functional brand new dialysis machines and complete set of medical equipment which can cater to at least 96 patients per day, who will be attended by licensed nephrologists and nurses.

“Our residents benefit a lot from the dialysis center, especially the poor who have so little to avail of such services,” Tumang said, adding that patients from Mexico get dialysis treatment sessions for free.

The municipal government, under Tumang’s leadership, is also speeding up the construction of the diagnostic center that will further boost the services of the Mexico Community Hospital by providing the needed diagnostic services to patients. The center is located right beside the hospital.
