THE City Government of Zamboanga is gearing up for ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001-2015 certification next year in a bid to further improve its quality management system.
In preparation for such certification, Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the division chiefs from different departments of the city government are currently undergoing an assessment and awareness training under the auspices of the AGF Consulting Group-Philippines.

AGF trainer Cloudine Mae Macapagong added that the city government is the first local government unit in the region to apply for ISO 9001-2015 certification for a quality management system (QMS), which refers to a collection of business processes focused on achieving quality policy and quality objectives to meet customers’ requirements.
Macapagong said it follows the principles of customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision and relationship management. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
