Paref’s Robins in Jr. NBA PHL Camp

A LONE Cebuano cager is among the 13 players who will represent Visayas in the Jr. NBA Philippines 2019 National Training Camp in Metro Manila on May 17 to 19.

Paref-Springdale’s Rod Robert Robins Jr. was among the chosen few in the Regional Selection Camp of Jr. NBA Philippines 2019 presented by Alaska last March 30 to 31 at the St. Louis of Don Bosco in Dumaguete City.

Robins Jr., 14, was among the 13 players who were picked after showing the core values of the game and excelling in a mixed of basketball activities and competition.

The Visayas Regional Selection Camp was conducted by Jr. NBA coach Rob Newson, along with former PBA players Tony Dela Cruz and Willie Miller.

Players from the Visayas region will join other chosen players from the Regional Selection Camps in Benguet, Butuan, Lucena and Metro Manila. Some cagers from the Alaska Power Camp will also join the National Training Camp.

The selected basketball players are battling to be picked as part of the Jr. NBA Philippines All-Star team, which will earn a ticket to the Jr. NBA Global Championship Asia Pacific Selection Camp in June.

The Jr. NBA Philippines All-Star will be composed of five boys and five girls.

The other players picked in the Visayas Regional Selection Camp are Allan Joseph Banas of the University of St. La Salle-Integrated School, Zhan Paolo Moreno of Xavier University Junior High School, Erlance Luiz Pedrita of St. Robert International Academy for the Boys and Henjz Gabriel Demisana, Mike Estelloso and John Ordas of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

The players for the girls team are Cristel Dianne Abule of La Libertad Technical Vocational School, Jaira Dela Cruz of Bacolod City National High School, Mary Rose Dugenio of La Consolacion College Bacolod, Keisha Malanay of Negros Oriental High School, Nicole Olores of La Libertad Technical Vocational High School and Gin Kayla Relliquette of University of St. La Salle.
