AS THE City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) will start the registration of tricycle, pedal-operated trisikad, and other motorized tricycle for hire today, April 4, the office is looking into decongesting areas with the most number of motorized vehicles such as Toril, Bankerohan, and Calinan.

Although CTTMO head Dionisio Abude said that all areas, especially in the Poblacion District will be regulated, due to the rising number of vehicles in the city.

He said that they will be providing a seemingly one-stop shop in 32 barangays in the city after barangay officials sought for a more convenient motorized vehicle registration.

"Aduna tay pagahimuong inspection sa mga units kung roadworthy ba siya. Ato sab tan-awon kung kumpleto ba ang gamit sama sa suga sa body niini (We will be conducting an onsite inspection of the units, if it is fully-equipped, to determine if it is roadworthy)," Abude said.

The CTMMO chief said that they will also review the operator's document including its official receipt (OR) and certificate of registration (CR), issued by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Abude also said that the receipt of the purchased motorized vehicle body will also be asked during the registration.

"Naa pud tay tao gikan sa City Treasurer's Office (CTO) nga mukolekta sa bayad, diin pagkahuman i-encode ang ila registration (We will have manning personnel from the CTO who will collect the registration fee then afterwards we will encode it)," he said, adding his office will have a database of all registered motorized vehicles, as operators will be issued with a number sticker on their vehicles.

"Gibuhat namo ni, to determine and regulate kung pila lang ba gyud ka 'sikad ang dapat mu-operate ana nga area (We are doing this to determine and regulate, as to how many trisikad, should operate in a certain area)," Abude said.

Registration in selected barangays will be until June 19 this year.
