Offices ordered to leave Pac in April

GOVERNOR Alfredo Marañon Jr. issued a memorandum to the concerned department heads that they should vacate the Provincial Administration Center (Pac) by April 30.

Provincial Information Officer Karen Dinsay said that starting Thursday, April 4, per the memorandum of the governor, the offices that are still occupying Pac will have to start packing up and transfer to their respective temporary offices.

Once Pac will be empty, the Dynamic Builders Inc. can start constructing its planned mixed-use building.

Dynamic is investing P1.7 billion to the development project in the Pac.

Among the provincial offices that need to transfer are the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and Provincial Veterinary Office, which will be temporarily housed at the St. Francis Centre; the Provincial Human Resource Management Office and the General Services Office, which will be transferred to the Reina LKC Building; while the Provincial Health Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and Negros Occidental Scholarship Program will be transferred to the Benjamin Hall.

The Provincial Assessor's Office, on the other hand, will move to Capgem Center; the Department of Budget Management Procurement Service Office to the LOC Temple Development Corp.; the Department of Budget and Management Procurement Office - Bodega to the 426 Holdings Inc.; the Provincial Engineering Office to the Philippine National Bank; Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program to the Negros First Hostel; and the Information and Communication Technical Division to the City Council Office.

Also, the Disaster Management Program Division will move to Panaad Park; Capgem Cooperative to Capgem Center; Provincial Planning and Development Office to the Old Capitol Building; and Economic Enterprises Development Department to the Negros First Hostel.

The offices will move out of their respective temporary offices once the New PAC Building worth P900 million will be finished.

The bidding for the said project, based on the Design and Build Concept, was also won by Dynamic Builders Inc. (TDE)
