Benguet ex-lawmaker passes away

TRADITIONAL rituals will be accorded to lawyer and former Benguet representative Samuel Dangwa who passed on Wednesday due to lingering illness. He was 83 years old.

Dangwa served as representative of the province from 1987 to 1995 and from 2001 to 2010.

In an official statement of the Dangwa Family, the official wake will start April 4 at the Dangwa residence at Barangay Cruz, La Trinidad until April 8.

The remains will be brought home to Cadtay, Kapangan on April 9 and burial set on April 11.

“It is with deep sadness that our Father Atty. Samuel M. Dangwa, former Congressman of Benguet has passed away yesterday (April 3, 2019),” his son Nelson Dangwa said in a statement.

Dangwa also serve as the vice governor of the province from 1972 to 1980 and was an assemblyman in the regular Batasang Pambansa from 1984 to 1986.

Former and present Benguet leaders also expressed their condolence to the former lawmaker with the Philippine flag at the provincial capitol put at half-mast.
