Dole warns vs modus in emergency employment program

THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) warned the public, especially qualified worker-beneficiaries, against the modus of some unscrupulous groups and individuals who are falsely using the agency’s livelihood and emergency employment program.

In a statement, Dole Secretary Silvestre Bello III said some individuals and groups are asking for money, so residents can avail themselves of the Dole Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Program (Dileep).

“Please be advised that the Dole does not authorize any individual or group to collect or solicit money to avail of said Dileep assistance,” said Bello.

“There are no membership and transaction fees in facilitating the processing of pre and post project implementation documents under the said program,” he added.

Bello advised the public not to deal with such individuals.

“We strongly condemn such practice, and recommend that the public not to respond to such solicitations,” Bello said.

He also urged those approached by unscrupulous individuals to report to the Dole such attempts.

“We urge the public to report any fraudulent incidents or any information on the unscrupulous individual or groups to the nearest Dole regional, provincial or field office,” said Bello.

To note, Dileep is a program that provides additional income and alternative employment to the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers.

It is being supervised by the Dole-Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
