6 nabbed in drug operations

THE anti-illegal drug operations of policemen in Negros Occidental resulted in the apprehension of six persons on Wednesday, April 3.

In Bacolod City, Benito Bonza, Kenji Sanchez, Jared De Leon, and Jemar Lachica were arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay Mansilingan.

Police recovered from them six sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P9,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, head of Police Station 7, said Bonza and Sanchez are high-value targets and alleged members of a drug group. Both are also in the police watchlist.

Gabana said the two suspects were previously arrested for the same offense but were released due to plea bargaining.

De Leon and Lachica were newly identified drug personalities.

All four suspects are detained at Police Station 7.

Also arrested in the city was Romy Valencia after he allegedly yielded three sachets of suspected shabu worth P40,000, and the P200 marked money.

In La Castellana town, Arnel Yanson, 42, of Barangay Robles, was arrested in the said village which resulted in the confiscation of two sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, lighter and P1,900 in cash.
