DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio endorsed the Padayon Pilipino and Centrist Democratic Party (Padayon-CDP) provincial candidates during the proclamation rally of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) Friday, April 5.
The presidential daughter's speech, however, focused on the senatorial candidates, as she convinced the 5,000 crowd inside the Lugod Gymnasium in Gingoog City to only choose from the 13 senatorial bets under the HNP.
"Nangita mi ug mga amigo na motabang suporta ug mangampanya ug moboto pud sa admin ni President (Rodrigo) Duterte gikan sa tuig 2019 hangtud sa 2020," she said, and went on to enumerate the names of the senatorial candidates.
(We are looking for friends who will help us support in campaigning and voting our administration bets and allies of President Rodrigo Duterte from 2019 to 2020.)
Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano said the endorsement will help their party get more votes.
"Dili matawag nga edge pero adunay ikatabang nga bot labina gipataas ni Mayor Sara among mga kamot ug gipakita gyud sa mga senador ang ilang suporta pinaagi sa pag-anhi dinhi," Emano said.
(We can't say there's an 'edge' but the endorsement can help especially when Mayor Sara raised our hands and showed their support including the senatorial candidates who came here.)
Among the senatorial bets who were present were JV Ejercito, Christopher "Bong' Go, Sonny Angara, Pia Cayetano, Cynthia Villar, Francis Tolentino, Ronald dela Rosa, and Ramon "Bong" Revilla.
Earlier, Duterte visited Cagayan de Oro City to endorse his partymates who are running under the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP)-Laban slate, including incumbent Mayor Oscar Moreno, who is known to be at odds with Padayon-CDP.
