CITY of San Fernando mayoralty candidate Vilma Caluag said she will immediately implement support programs for the city’s youth to give them opportunities to avail of free education in all levels.

“The education of a skilled Fernandino youth is necessary prepare them for employment. We need a string education support system that will give more opportunities for education,” Caluag said, adding that being elected as city mayor would enable her to do more.

Caluag said the city will provide education for children in the poorest communities of the city and will foster their education from elementary to college. She added that she will also urge large companies and businesses in the city to adopt this kind of system as their corporate social responsibility program.

The construction of more school buildings is also seen by Caluag as an answer to the growing young population of students in the city. She added that all integrated schools here should have more buildings in order to accommodate more students.

Caluag also said she will immediately “revitalize” the city college and open its doors for more students through free education. She said she will implement and review the current programs of the college and the needed support to ensure that teachers and program offerings are taken care of.

The mayoralty aspirant also said she will revive the practice of providing allowances for teachers. To better equip public school teachers, Caluag said that all secondary and elementary school teachers in the city will receive laptops.
