GAC Motor Philippines held the groundbreaking ceremony of its latest dealership, making it the first dealership to open in Cebu, Philippines.
Located along ML Quezon St., Casuntingan Mandaue City, the groundbreaking was headed by Vince Lim, chief executive officer of V Prime Motors Inc. (VPMI), and Angeli Lim, chief operating officer of VPMI, together with Wilbert Lim, chief executive officer of Legado Motors Inc. (LMI); Regina Lim, chief financial officer of LMI; Giovanni Frias, vice president for sales and operations of LMI, and Dang San Juan, dealer development manager of LMI.
Less than a month since the grand opening of GAC Motor’s first dealership in Central Luzon and just a few months after GAC’s grand launching in the Philippines, China’s fastest growing automaker will soon establish a dealership in the city of Mandaue under V Prime Motors Inc. headed by Lim.
“We are excited to introduce these world-class vehicles of GAC Motor Company here in Cebu. We are proud and excited to let the Cebuanos drive and discover the GAC. This dealership will open more job opportunities and will contribute to the growth of the automotive industry,” said CEO Lim of VPMI.
“While we await the opening of the GAC showroom, we will be housing service and sales temporarily at Autozam Motors, mother company of V Prime Motors Inc. So for those who can’t wait to drive the GAC, avail of our special pre-opening promos here at Mandaue,” mentioned COO Lim.
GAC Motor Company (Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Ltd.) is a Chinese automobile manufacturer from Guangdong established in July 2007. Brought to the Philippines by former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson, it is now aggressively expanding throughout the country under LMI, as its exclusive distributor.
It was dubbed as the sixth largest passenger car producer in the Chinese market in 2009. With its arrival in the Philippine market, GAC Motor initially lines up five models designed to closely compete with other well established brands.
GAC Motor has recieved five-star ratings in China Automotive Technology and research center’s China-new car assessment program (C-NCAP) crash test (the only cars to do so) and was ranked as the number one Chinese brand in JD power initial Quality Study for five consecutive years from 2013 to 2017.
