PDEA raids drug den, nabs 9

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) - Negros Occidental dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested nine persons in a raid in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Friday afternoon, April 5.

PDEA-Negros Occidental officer-in-charge Jose Tomabini Jr., said operatives raided the house of Mary Grace Tupaz through a search warrant, following reports from the community about her alleged involvement in illegal drugs in the village.

The operation was conducted 50 meters behind the barangay hall, he said.

However, he has yet to talk with the village officials about it.

The other arrested suspects were caught inside Tupaz’s house during the raid.

Some were waiting to hold a “pot session” inside the house, Tomabini said.

He said Tupaz is considered a high value target because she uses her place as venue for the “pot session” or any drug transactions.

PDEA agents recovered during the operation 20 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P140,000 and drug paraphernalia.

All suspects are detained at Police Station 2. (GYM)
