9 drug busts net 13 people, P500-T shabu

NINE anti-drug operations of policemen in Negros Occidental resulted in the recovery of an estimated P531,300 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in the past two days.

Of the total amount, P228,100 worth of drugs were seized in four buy-bust operations and one police checkpoint operation in Bacolod City from Thursday to Friday, April 4 to 5.

On Friday, John Paul Godinez, 20, and Raymond Losaya, 22, both residents of Barangay Bata, were arrested while their companion Antonio Abaring, a newly identified drug personality, managed to escape during the drug bust in the said village.

Police recovered during the operation six sachets of suspected shabu worth P62,500, the P200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Godinez and Losaya are detained at Police Station 3.

Also arrested on Thursday, in Barangay 16 were Hezyl Pontero, 38, of Barangay 16; and Lai Sorillo, 38, of Barangay 14, after police confiscated from him 13 sachets of suspected shabu worth P15,000, the P200 marked money, lighter, and a coin purse.

Pontero is a high-value target and a drug surrenderer. She also ranked third among the drug personalities under the drugs watchlist of Police Station 1.

Both suspects are detained at Police Station 1.

On April 4, Alexander Gozon, 54, a newly identified drug personality, and Angelie Olaera, 44, both residents of Barangay Bata, were arrested in the village after police recovered from them four sachets of suspected shabu worth P75,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia. Both are detained at Police Station 3.

Personnel of Police Station 4 arrested Michael Poblacion, 29, of Barangay 19 in a buy-bust in the village on Wednesday, April 3, which led to the confiscation of eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P51,600, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia. He is detained at the police station.

A drug surrenderer and a high-value target was arrested in a police checkpoint in Barangay 9 after he allegedly yielded seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing two grams worth P24,000.

Police identified the suspect as Apollo Mendoza, 35, of Barangay 2.

In Negros Occidental, P303,200 worth of illegal drugs were seized in four operations on April 4.

In Victorias City, Pepito Patriarca, 37, of Barangay 6, was arrested after he was allegedly caught in possession of seven sachets of suspected shabu worth P200,000, the P400 marked money, P2,640 in cash, lighter, and coin purse.

In San Carlos City, Marianne Apaliso, 38, of Barangay 6, was arrested in the village after police raided her house by virtue of a search warrant.

She is under the target list of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.

Police seized from her seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing six grams worth P72,000.

In Silay City, newly identified drug personalities Antonio Castor, 26; and John Mark Tupas, 21, both residents of Barangay Mambulac were arrested at the said village in a drug raid.

Police recovered from them six sachets of suspected shabu worth P30,000, cellular phone, gambling paraphernalia, and P250 in cash.

In Escalante City, Arjon Pedemia, 25, of Barangay Balintawak, a newly identified drug personality, was arrested in the village after police recovered from him four sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,200, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia. (GYM)
