THE Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 46 in Bacolod City granted the motion to post bail of Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Celestina Garcia-Yulo and her husband Felix Mathias Segundo Yulo III, for illegal possession of explosives.

Chief Inspector Abner Zamora, warden of Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Bago City, confirmed on Friday, that the couple was released from jail at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5, after they posted bail amounting to P10,000 each.

The couple is facing charges of illegal possession of explosives with no bail, but Judge Edgar Tupas granted the couple’s motion to fix bail for the said case, Zamora said.

Zamora said the couple also posted bail at P200,000 each for their illegal possession of firearm and ammunition case.

The couple was detained at Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station in December 2017 after they were arrested in a police checkpoint for the said offense, including illegal possession of dangerous drugs, which was already dismissed by the court because it was found that the recovered illegal drugs were fake.

In September 2018, the couple surrendered to the authorities in Bacolod City after they feared for their safety.

They were placed under the custody of NODJ since October 2018.

The vice mayor is running for the mayoralty position in this year’s elections.
