E. Visayas cops net 109 wanted persons, suspects in 5 days

A TOTAL of 109 suspects including three most wanted persons were arrested around Eastern Visayas from March 25 to 29, according to the Police Regional Office (PRO) of the region.

Of the 109 arrests, police identified 70 wanted persons, three most wanted persons, 13 drug personalities, and 23 illegal fishers, PRO-Eastern Visayas reported on April 4.

“The arrest of these lawless people is a major breakthrough in our law enforcement operations due to our collective efforts in PRO-Eastern Visayas. Of course with the active support of the community, we will bring out peace and security in Eastern Visayas under my watch,” said Regional Police Director Dionardo Carlos.

In Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office, police arrested Gerardo Balmaceda, who is rank 1 of the most wanted person for the crime of murder in the town of Taft.

Jose Bernales, rank 8 most wanted person facing murder case was arrested by Samar Provincial Police Office.

Leyte Police Provincial Office collared 27 other wanted persons with 10 counts for violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 1602 or illegal gaming, three counts of estafa, two counts for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and violations of Republic Act (RA) 7610 and BP Blg. 6 and single count each for cases of maltreatment, illegal possession of firearms, robbery, frustrated homicide and attempted homicide.

Southern Leyte Provincial Office nabbed 12 other wanted persons while Tacloban City Police Office recorded arrest of five wanted persons with two counts of homicide and single count each for robbery with force upon things, frustrated robbery with physical injury, violations of PD 1602 and RA 9262.

Northern Samar Police Provincial Office arrested Johnny Mora, rank 2 most wanted person for the crime of rape.

Biliran Police Provincial Office arrested four other wanted persons while Ormoc City Police Provincial Office arrested one wanted person. (SunStar Philippines)
