YOUNG players will get a chance to learn the basic drills in basketball in the Proppee’s Summer Basketball Clinic on May 23 to 27 at the Sisters of Mary Schools (SMS-Boystown) in Minglanilla, Cebu.

The clinic, presented by Propan TLC, Propan Fit, Coach K Basketball Skillz Academy, Zuellig Pharma Commercial Solutions and SMS-Boystown, is for the Under-12 and Under-18 players.

“The partnership with the SMS-Boystown is our way of giving back through a special sampling activity. We will give something for consumption of the students,” said Zuellig Pharma’s district sales manager Fariza Ortiz during the event’s launching at the House of Lechon on Saturday, April 6.

The SMS-Boystown has become an ideal venue for basketball-related activities with its numerous open basketball courts. The school also hosted the historic Chooks-to-Go 3x3 event.

There is no registration fee for the summer clinic but interested kids only need to present a proof of purchase of Propan TLC and Profan Fit.

The requirement for the 12-Under is a receipt for six bottles of a 250ml Propan TLC. For the 18-Under division, participants need to present a proof of purchase of two boxes of Profan Fit. The product should be purchased in partner stores in Mercury Drug, Rose Pharmacy, Watsons, Ultramart and Three Sixty Pharmacy.

Heading the camp is training director Michael “Coach K” Cenabre together with conditioning coach Christopher Wilson from North Carolina, Julius Caballero of Don Bosco, Dennis Pacquiao of Cebu Institute of Technology-University, Rhalf Enoc of SMS-Boystown and consultant Van Halen Parmis.

All participants will receive freebies from the organizer, a basketball and a jersey. About 100 Under-12 and another 100 Under-18 players are expected to join.

“The things we are going to teach them are basic basketball fundamentals: shooting, ball handling, footwork and conditioning,” said Cenabre.

The Propan Fit and Propan TLC team said this sport clinic is part of the company’s move to get identified in sports since they’re initially known as an appetite-stimulant. (RSC)
