A SAFER summer for motorists and passengers is being assured.
Kicking off the “Ligtas Sumvac” 2019 program on Saturday, April 6, the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) led by Police Major Peter Dapliyan, Chief of Operations, inspected buses, vans and private vehicles in Baguio City for road worthiness and safety gear.
The “Ligtas Sumvac” program is in coordination with the Baguio City Police Traffic Unit visited major bus and van stations in the city and boarded buses to talk to passengers in safety while on the road.
Dapliyan said the inspections will focus on safety of the vehicle to travel, documentation of the driver and the vehicle as well as needed safety gear.
The HPG and the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) traffic unit will sustain its programs of to thwart car napping, theft and highway robbery and reminded inspections are both for public and private vehicles.
Dapliyan said motorists are advised to check their gas, brakes, water, batteries, pressure and tires while on travel and reminded of a needed fit physical condition while driving to avoid accidents.
On Saturday, Colorum vehicles were apprehended and confiscated their license plates in the joint inspection with the HPG and the BCPO Traffic unit headed by Chief Inspector Oliver Panabang.
