Y-Speak: Being on time

SOME of us are guilty when we talk about “time.” Especially when there are occasions, events, meetings and in the school.

We tend to make our own clock and disregard the importance of being on time. Being on time reflects your attitude of being a responsible one and valuing the people whom you have agreed with. But if you are not on time, it means that you did not value their time and you are irresponsible.

Being late has negative effects like in your work. You are already giving a bad impression to your employer because of your attitude of being late.

Another example is in school. When you arrive late, you are already behind for the lessons of the day. These are just a few examples of the negative effects that you might get.

But being on time has a positive effect in your life. You will be more productive and responsible in every aspect. People will like you because you can be trusted, you can keep promises, and you know how to respect them.

Being on time should be a promise that should not be broken. We should not take the habit of being late because it will not cause us a good effect but rather a bad result. It is rude to a person whom you have agreed with if you fail to follow the given time.

Hence, we should discipline ourselves in terms of being on time so that we cannot hurt others and we can build a better connection to everyone. ( Arrianne Kate Arilla, Usep Intern)
