Panabo to change urban landscape

IMPROVING road connectivity and the city's urban landscape is on top of the development direction of the city government of Panabo under the administration of Mayor James G. Gamao.

During his 4th State of the City Address on March 27, Gamao promised major changes in the city's urban landscape as he revealed the various infrastructure projects in place this year to attain his development agenda.

These include the construction of drainage canals, riprapping of creeks, improvement of riverbanks, rehabilitation of old cracked roads, and road widening of city and national roads.

The city also invested in asphalt batching plant and paving equipment, which will make the expeditious paving of city and barangay roads possible.

In the next few years, the city mayor envisions to improve the city’s road intersections and provide alternate roads to decongest and mitigate traffic in the city center.

By this, it complements the vision of the city of inclusive growth by making sure that public services will reach the farthest barangays.

Aside from the improvement of road networks, Gamao announced the redevelopment of the city parks and plaza with P14 million in place, giving Panaboans a better area for recreation and improving the park’s ecosystem.

Gamao also stated the redevelopment of the central public market will be procured and constructed this year, while the flyover project will be completed within 2019 as promised by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
