Police assure security of Evraa delegates

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) in Eastern Visayas has assured the security of over 10,000 delegates in this year’s Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (Evraa) meet in Ormoc City.

The Evraa meet runs from April 7 to 12.

“Stringent security is all set for the success of Evraa 2019,” said Police Regional Director Dionardo Carlos, who personally attended the opening ceremony.

The PRO augmented 246 personnel in Ormoc City Police Office for the necessary preventive measures in order to avoid any untoward incident in the weeklong activity.

Police personnel were deployed in 27 playing venues and 13 billeting areas around the city for the security of the athletes and visitors.

Also, the Philippine Army and force multipliers deployed about 542 personnel to beef up the security.

Carlos also urged the public and the participants to report any unusual activity or suspicious individuals that may cause disorder. to the event.

Earlier, Carlos led a group of skydivers from the Philippine National Police and other security forces in a skydiving demonstration as part of the opening program. The skydiving demonstration was the first in the history of the annual Evraa sports tournament.
