City Council sessions moved to morning

THE Bacolod City Council amended its internal rules to hold its regular session every Wednesday morning until the end of election period.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said on Monday, April 8, that most of the councilors requested to hold their session at 10 a.m. instead of 3 p.m.

“Since it’s a campaign period, they preferred to transfer the session in the morning so that in the afternoon they have time to campaign,” he said.

The amendment was unanimously approved during the regular session last week.

This year, reelectionists are Familiaran for vice mayor, Councilors Cindy Rojas, Dindo Ramos, Bartolome Orola, Elmer Sy, Ana Marie Palermo, Renecito Novero, Claudio Puentevella and Wilson Gamboa Jr. for councilor.

Councilors Caesar Distrito, Em Ang and Sonya Verdeflor will end their term this year. (MAP)
