THE comeback bid of former mayor Rene Maglanque of Candaba town gained the support of former and incumbent elected officials in his hometown and in the province.

Gubernatorial bet Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and reelectionist Fourth District Representative Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc showed their all-out support to Maglanque’s mayoralty bid during the proclamation rally held at his residence in Barangay Mandasig.

Wives of senatorial bets Bong Revilla and Dong Mangudadatu, along with several former and incumbent municipal and barangay officials also rallied behind Maglanque and the whole Team Malugud slate in a bid to reclaim the Municipal Hall from the current administration.

Bondoc, in his speech, cited the importance of alliance and good communication between the national, provincial and local government to ensure the smooth downloading of programs to the people.

“Officials have to work hand-in-hand to ensure that programs and projects will be properly implemented and as officials, we wanted to work with people who share the same vision of developing the province, the district and Candaba,” he said.

Bondoc noted that the same was the reason why he humbled himself and forged an alliance with the Pineda family and gave way to the gubernatorial bid of Pineda, instead of advancing his interest to run for the same position.

Formally endorsing Maglanque, Bondoc urged Candabeños to also elect a leader that will serve as a bridge in downloading the programs from the national and provincial government to this fourth district town.

“We have seen the progress brought by Mayor Rene in this town during his term and we have experienced what is Candaba without his vision and leadership so let us help each other in resuming the progress that was recoiled in the past almost three years,” Bondoc said.

Pineda, who formally introduced Maglanque as Kambilan party’s mayoralty bet, said that the provincial government is slating numerous projects beneficial to this town and its people.

“Give us a partner that will help us implement these programs and you will be assured that the Candaba’s potential for development will be unleashed, and that Candabeños will reap the fruit of this progress,” Pineda told residents here.

Maglanque, for his part, expressed gratitude to Bondoc and Pineda for supporting his mayoralty bid and his vision to bring progress to his hometown.

“I’m very grateful because I know that their support to me will not only be beneficial to my candidacy but will also come with numerous programs that will help uplift the lives of my Candabeños,” he said.
