Capitol assures affordable foods at LGU pavilions

THE Provincial Capitol assured that food prices offered at the pavilions of the local government units (LGUs) are reasonable and affordable in line with the ongoing celebration of the Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Panaad Park in Barangay Mansilingan.

Provincial Information Officer Karen Dinsay says that the governor has asked the mayors and the tourism officers of the LGUs to make sure that the foods served at their booths are at reasonable prices.

Capitol made the assurance as there were complaints in previous years that foods served at the pavilions are quite higher in terms of prices.

Dinsay assured that Panaad sa Negros executive director Ma. Lina Sanogal has deployed personnel to monitor the LGUs in terms of prices, maintenance of sanitation and cleanliness at their respective pavilions.

“Sea foods, native foods and delicacies are offered and served the LGU pavilions. Products from vegetables, fruits, handicrafts, among others are available at the pavilions and sales are monitored daily,” Dinsay said.

She said that both local and foreign tourists as well as guests from other provinces are now gathering at the province because of the festival which is dubbed as the mother of all festivals in Negros Occidental. (TDE)
