THE ongoing 26th Panaad sa Negros Festival has initially raked in almost P5.7 million sales for the first two days of the celebration.
A Capitol report showed that pavilions of the local government units (LGUs) generated P920,038.50 in sales.
The eco-garden show generated P296,800; food park - P260,770; kiosks - P255,380; organic market - P153,447; and livestock and dairy fair - P151,825.
On the first day, almost P2.5 million worth of revenue was generated. The amount is excluding the sales obtained by LGU pavilions.
The eco-garden show garnered the highest sales amounting to about P1.2 million.
For the livestock and dairy fair, it generated P771,305 in sales; food kiosks - P216,081; organic market - P84,177; and food park - P184,630.
Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. earlier expressed optimism that higher sales will be generated this year.
Marañon attributed it to better quality, diversified and more number of products offered in Panaad.
Themed "Beyond a Promise... A Legacy," the week-long celebration runs from April 8 to 14.
