The Core: A haven for all passions

MOST people strive for progressive development. To attain this, they must start within themselves as human strength is always centered in people’s cores. That said, people actively seek for a perfect haven to passionately do what they do best. However, they may have a hard time looking for such a place in this busy city. This is the motivation and purpose behind the launching of The Core by MDF Productions.

The Core is a multi-faceted space for passionate souls; a haven where individuals can freely display their crafts. It welcomes people with their own different passions, whether they are performers, fitness instructors, artists or just a group seeking for a good time.

Its 101 square-meter space can accommodate up to 50 people. Its floor is specially constructed in basket weave sprung, as one can confidently move in any way one wants without fear of breaking the floor. A wall of mirrors can be covered with black curtains, as the space can easily be transformed from a rehearsal studio into an intimate area for seminars, exhibits, workshops and conferences.

As a theatrical play director, Margarita (Margo) Frasco, the owner of The Core, has had difficulty in looking for a place to do rehearsals. This was the guiding force that pushed her to build The Core.

“When I thought of making the space, I kind of want to make it luxurious but for everyone; a space where anybody can just come in,” said Margo. She also imparted a little touch of her home to The Core by adding warm yellow lights and fancy chandeliers.

Aside from making the space available for rent, The Core also offers yoga, zumba, meditation and pop dance courses at very affordable prices.

Being the first-of-its-kind space in Cebu, The Core by MDF Productions plans to branch out in different places in the city to provide multi-faceted communities with a great avenue for local talents.

The Core is located at the Unit 2A, FLC Center, 888 Hernan Cortes St., Mandaue City, Cebu. It is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
