THIS year, the Newtown School of Excellence—the first school venture of property giant Megaworld in the Visayas found within the 30-hectare Mactan Newtown township—welcomes a new batch of children into its community as it formally opens the first phase of its elementary school building.
A dynamic and nurturing community, The Mactan Newtown is an integrated urban township designed and master-planned after Megaworld’s pioneering LIVE-WORK-PLAY-LEARN lifestyle concept. In September last year, it won a Gold Award for the Masterplan Category from the Property and Real Estate Awards organized by the International Real Estate Federation of the Philippines (FIABCI-Philippines).
More importantly, NSE also stands as the best institution of choice for children of the expat community and residents of Lapu-Lapu City, nearby towns and cities, as well as the children of those working in companies and business within the surrounding area.
The school will have two main buildings: the single-storey Preschool Building composed of three classrooms, a library, playground, and the four-story Elementary Building.
The latter features 13 classrooms, library and learning resource center, multipurpose covered court, science laboratories, clinic, as well as a mini-dining hall.
“Being inside The Mactan Newtown, the school will also have access to its own beachfront, allowing the institution to conveniently utilize the beach facilities for school activities,” says Noli D. Hernandez, president of NSEI.
Providing holistic education anchored on values and technology, NSE nurtures its students with excellent quality education as the institution will be operated and managed in partnership with the LASSSAI.
Focusing on holistic development, the school aims to develop core values anchored on Christian Living principles. Apart from this, the curricula in different programs to be offered in the NSE will be technology-based and will be geared toward academic excellence and proficiency.
Enrollment is now ongoing for school year 2019-2020 for preschool and the early stages of elementary. NSE is now accepting applicants for the following levels: Nursery 1 and 2, Kindergarten, and Grades 1 to 3.
