THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula has readied Operations Plan “Ligtas Sumvac 2019” to ensure a peaceful summer vacation in the region.
Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis Licup, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said they are deploying 3,117 policemen to secure the areas of convergence, vacation and tourist spots.
Licup said uniformed policemen will be also deployed in highways, bus terminals, seaports, and airports to prevent criminals and unscrupulous individuals from victimizing vacationers during the summer vacation and Holy Week observance in the region.
Licup said they have also tapped some 1,628 force multipliers and members of volunteer groups to augment the policemen tasked to render summer security duty.
Licup reminded the public to be vigilant and to immediately report to the nearest police station regarding suspicious items or persons in their respective localities.
He assured the public that the police units are on standby and ready to respond to any situation and emergencies during summer vacation. (SunStar Philippines)
