Tell it to Sunstar: No parking

UYTENGSU St. in Barangay Sambag 1, Cebu City is a narrow road that connects Osmeña Blvd. to J. Urgello St.

It used to be lined with post-war wooden homes, but some had been razed to give way to multi-story structures.

Drivers who are not familiar with the road often find themselves in a tight bind.

As you descend Uytengsu St., the road gets narrower and narrower until it can only accommodate one vehicle.

First-time drivers, and there are many of them out there, often have a hard time trying to deal with the situation.

Most often, they are forced to back up; otherwise, they’ll be playing the waiting game for quite some time.

It doesn’t help that in some portions motorists park their cars on the side of an already very narrow street. At night, trucks delivering materials at an ongoing construction site sometimes cause traffic.

I’m pretty sure the whole stretch of Uytengsu St. is “no parking” on either side, but violators go scott-free because traffic enforcers seldom operate in this area.
