VM aspirant wants monitoring of ordinances, legislative review

CITY of San Fernando vice mayoralty candidate Angie Hizon is anchoring her campaign platform on the need to implement a thorough review of the city’s ordinances to ensure implementation and identify areas where laws need fine-tuning.

Hizon said that an “Oversight Committee” should be in place to monitor the implementation of existing and future local legislation of the city. This would ensure that the laws are properly implemented and would identify the strengths and weakness of existing ordinances in actual implementation.

The composition and exact functions of the oversight committee would have to be properly determined once the enabling law for the said committee is in place.

The lady vice-mayoralty aspirant is also looking at the review of existing ordinances of the city. The codification and update of such ordinances, she said, would enable the legislative department to implement necessary updates to fit the current needs of the city.

In earlier reports, Hizon said once given a seat as vice mayor, she pledges changes in the legislative department and “a quick response” services for the Fernandinos.

Hizon is running as independent and has chosen to not to ally herself with political forces out of her own convictions and principles.
