Bong Go: Campaign funds from people

ASPIRING senator and former presidential assistant Christopher “Bong” Go has maintained that his campaign funds came from people and supporters who believed in his principles and the administration’s thrust to pursue change.

Go made the statement in response to issues on wealth and campaign fund sources thrown by his critics and political rivals.

“Naa koy prinsipyo nga ginasunod, sunod ko sa prinsipyo ni President Duterte. Kampanya ni karong panahona, daghan ang mituo sa amo daghan ang misuporta sa amo kay gusto nila nga ipadayon ang pagbag-o mao na akong promise nga ipadayon ang pagbag-o mao ana na lang kadaghan ang gusto motabang ug mosuporta sa amo,” Go said.

(I have a principle that I follow, coming from President Duterte’s principle as well. It’s campaign season and many believed in us and supported us because they want to continue the changes made by this administration, that is why my promise is to continue the change, and that is why many wanted to help and support)

He said that it is him who refused the help instead.

Duterte’s long-time ally was with celebrities Robin Padilla and Philip Salvador when they toured the city streets through a motorcade last Friday. The group made a stop at Aling Violy’s eatery inside the Cogon public market to take lunch.

Go reiterated he would continue the fight against illegal drugs, corruption and criminality, when he gets a seat in senate.

He also vowed to deliver basic health services through the Malasakit Center stationed nationwide. (Alwen Saliring)
