Low water pressure expected in Iloilo

THE Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) advised its consumers to expect low water pressure starting Friday due to El Niño phenomenon.

The MIWD said the low water pressure will affect Jaro district and city proper areas between 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. daily.

Villages of San Jose, San Miguel and Guzman-Jesena including JMI village in Mandurriao district will experience low water pressure between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Other areas in Mandurriao to include Ana Ros Village, Villa Vista, JMF, JEM, WVRAP, and Sacred Heart Subdivisions, Imperial Homes V and VI and Landheights VI will experience low pressure from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

Molo and Arevalo districts will have low water pressures between 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The MIWD said the scheduling is due to the critical drop in water level at its sources in the Maasin, Oton and San Miguel towns.

Meanwhile, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas has asked the City Council to place the city under a state of imminent crisis. He also urged the MIWD to look for other sources of potable water.
